Foundation and History
The Affidea brustCare centres of excellence trace their origins to the Breast Centre Zurich (BZ) and the Plastic Surgery Group (PSG). Both institutions joined Affidea in 2022 and 2023 as part of a strengthened partnership, consolidating their role in specialised breast cancer therapy in Switzerland.
2001
Founding of the Breast Centre Zurich
The first and largest centre in Switzerland dedicated exclusively to breast cancer.
2006
EUSOMA Accreditation
The Breast Centre Zurich becomes the first EUSOMAcertified breast centre.
2017
Founding of the Plastic Surgery Group
Prof. Jian Farhadi establishes PSG, offering cuttingedge techniques in breast reconstruction.
2017
PD Dr. med. Christoph Tausch assumes leadership of the Breast Centre Zurich
Having joined in 2008, Dr. Tausch becomes Director and owner in 2017.
2017 - present
Collaboration between Breast Centre Zurich and PSG
Together, they set new standards in early detection, oncological therapy, and reconstructive surgery.
2022 - 2023
Affidea Group acquires Breast Centre Zurich and PSG
Both institutions join Affidea, establishing a stronger partnership.
2024
Founding of Breast Centre Ticino
Built on the successful model of the Breast Centre Zurich.

Breast Centre Zurich and PSG designated as centres of excellence

Rebranding of Breast Centre Zurich and PSG
Breast Centre Zurich becomes Affidea brustCare Breast Centre Zurich and PSG is renamed Affidea Plastic Surgery Group. Both continue to collaborate, offering their specialised services.
