Biography

Dr Alexandra-Melanie Giner is an FMH-certified specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics. She speaks German and English and has been working at the Zurich Breast Center as a consultant since September 2023.

After studying medicine at the University of Zurich, she gained extensive practical experience. From March 2012 to June 2013, she worked as a surgical resident at Zollikerberg Hospital. Until 2017, she continued working in the same building in the gynaecology clinic before taking further positions as a resident physician at the gynaecology clinics of the University Hospital Zurich and Triemli Hospital Zurich. In 2020, she returned to Zollikerberg Hospital as a senior physician in the gynaecology clinic.

Dr Alexandra-Melanie Giner continually deepens her knowledge in gynaecology and obstetrics, earning the FMH specialist title in 2019. Her academic curiosity is also evident in her 2012 doctoral dissertation titled: ‘Primary Management and Outcome of Patients with Pneumococcal Bacteremia at the University Hospital Zurich’.

She is a member of respected medical associations such as the Swiss Medical Association and Swiss Gynaecology (SSGO). Her broad knowledge and practical experience enable her to continuously improve women’s health.
