Dr. med. Alexandre CHRISTINAT

Biography
Born in Lausanne, Switzerland, Dr Alexandre Christinat studied medicine at the University of Lausanne from 1996 to 2003. Between 2000 and 2001, he supplemented his studies through the Socrates Programme in Munich, Germany, with training in paediatrics, internal medicine, radiology and surgery.
Upon returning to Switzerland, he completed medical internships in oncology, ENT, surgery and orthopaedics, internal medicine, paediatrics and ophthalmology in Lausanne, Morges, Fribourg, Monthey and Martigny.
In 2003, he obtained his Federal Medical Diploma (FMH) and in 2004 joined Hôpital de Morges to continue his training in internal medicine with Prof Baumgartner, as well as in palliative care in Aubonne.
In 2005 and the following year, Dr Alexandre Christinat completed his training in oncology and haematology at Hôpital de Sion with Dr Stalder. He returned to Lausanne in 2006 and joined the Department of Internal Medicine at CHUV under Prof Waeber.
Since 2007, he has worked in the Oncology Department of CHUV with Prof Leyvraz, and in 2009 he served at Hôpital de Morges as Associate Chief Resident. In 2010, he obtained the FMH Specialist diploma in Oncology and returned to CHUV as Chief Resident.
Between 2010 and 2011, he was a member of the research unit at the Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland (IOSI) in Bellinzona, Ticino, under Prof Cavalli, and the Lymphoma Clinic with Prof Zucca and Prof Sessa. In 2011, he earned the FMH Specialist diploma in General Internal Medicine.
From 2011 to 2013, Dr Alexandre Christinat became Chief Resident at IOSI, working alongside Prof. Ghielmini.
Since 2013, he has been practicing independently in Lugano at his specialised oncology practice, Varini Calderoni Christinat.
Alongside his professional career, Dr Alexandre Christinat has authored various publications, participated in several specialist medical conferences and is a member of multiple medical and oncology associations and organisations.
In 2023, he joined Affidea Switzerland at the new Ticino Breast Center.
