Biography
Dr Christina-Maria Ziegler is an FMH-certified specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics. Since March 2024, she has served as Senior Physician at the Zurich Breast Center. She is fluent in German and English.
Before joining the Zurich Breast Center, she worked in various hospitals, including as a resident in gynaecology and obstetrics, in a rotation at the breast centre of the Cantonal Hospital of St. Gallen, and at Zollikerberg Hospital and Kantonsspital Baden AG. In June 2020, she obtained her FMH specialist certification in gynaecology and obstetrics. She was then promoted to Interim Senior Physician and later to Senior Physician at the Kantonsspital Baden. She completed her medical degree at the University of Regensburg, Germany, in 2015. As part of her doctoral work in the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, she focused on targeting HER family receptors in breast cancer cells using afatinib and neratinib.
Dr Ziegler continually enhances her expertise. In 2022, she received the MIBB (Minimally Invasive Breast Biopsies) certification from the Swiss Society of Senology and completed the introductory course in ‘Genetic Counseling in Oncology’. In February 2024, she earned the prestigious Diploma of Senology.
She is a member of the Swiss Society of Senology, the Swiss Gynaecology Society (SSGO), the SAKK CPTC Network, the Oncoplastic Breast Consortium and the Federation of Swiss Physicians.
