Biography
Dr PhD Konstantina Chrysou is an experienced specialist in medical oncology and general internal medicine. Since May 2023, she has been working as a consultant at the Zurich Breast Center. She speaks German, English, French and Greek.
From early 2019 to April 2023, Dr PhD Chrysou worked as a resident physician in medical oncology at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). From 2014 to 2018, she held various resident positions in cardiology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, thoracic surgery and intensive care at Inselspital in Bern. Before that, she worked as a resident in general internal medicine at St. Barbara Clinic Hamm-Heessen and St. Josef Hospital Hamm-Bockum-Hövel in Germany.
She holds a doctorate from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, FMH specialist titles in medical oncology and general internal medicine, and a doctoral degree in medicine from the University of Bern. She studied human medicine at the University of Patras in Greece from 2005 to 2011. She then worked at the Milos Medical Center, Greece, followed by various internships in infectious diseases at Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, internal medicine/infectious diseases at Athens General Hospital and internal medicine at St. Barbara Clinic Hamm-Heessen.
Dr PhD Chrysou has published several articles in recognised professional journals focusing on oncology and infectious diseases. Her work has contributed to a better understanding of infectious disease treatment in immunocompromised patients and the effective use of antibiotics. Her dedication to the medical community and her pursuit of continuous professional development are reflected in her memberships in various medical societies, including the European Society for Medical Oncology and the Swiss Association of Assistant Doctors and Chief Residents (ASMAC).
