  • Since obtaining my specialist certification in 2008, I have primarily worked in breast cancer diagnostics, breast imaging, and early detection, and from 2008 to 2017 I was part of the English breast cancer screening programme. I have extensive experience in mammography, ultrasound, ultrasound‑guided and stereotactic biopsies, preoperative localisation of target lesions, as well as vacuum‑assisted biopsies and breast MRI.

Biography

Dr Martin Müller is a radiology specialist with a strong commitment to the diagnosis and early detection of breast cancer. His areas of expertise include mammography, ultrasound and more advanced techniques such as breast MRI, contrast-enhanced mammography and vacuum-assisted biopsies.

Since 2017, he has brought his broad knowledge and experience in breast diagnostics to the Zurich Breast Center. He performs biopsies and preoperative localisations, making him a valuable member of the institution’s multidisciplinary approach. He speaks German and English.

Dr Müller’s medical career began with studies at the University of Tübingen, Germany. In 1994, he completed his degree with the state exam. His professional journey then took him to the UK, where he worked as a junior doctor in internal medicine and surgery in Sutton-in-Ashfield and Hull. He later served as a surgical house officer in Sutton-in-Ashfield, a surgical rotation doctor in Nottingham, a plastic surgery house officer at Nottingham City Hospital and an orthopaedic house officer in Stoke-on-Trent.

He successfully completed his specialist training in radiology in Middlesbrough in 2008, qualifying him to work as a radiology consultant in Boston (UK), Macclesfield and Stockport. From 2008 to 2017, he also participated in the UK breast cancer screening programme.

In 2016, he obtained the European Diploma in Breast Imaging. He also contributes to breast cancer diagnostics through his publications.

Since 2022, Dr Martin Müller has led the radiology department at the Zurich Breast Center. His dedication to patients underscores his unwavering commitment to improving care and early detection.
