Biography
Dr Silke Mehnert is a specialist in radiology. Since January 2022, she has been working as a Senior Consultant at the Zurich Breast Center. She speaks German and English.
Dr Mehnert pursued medicine as a second career. After completing a degree in German and English literature (Magistra Artium), she briefly worked as a marketing assistant. From 2002 to 2008, she studied medicine at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany, successfully completing her studies with the state exam.
She deepened her radiology expertise as a resident physician at the Cantonal Hospital of Frauenfeld. After qualifying as a specialist, she was appointed chief physician in radiology in 2014. Since then, she has been part of the breast diagnostics team and has been actively involved in her speciality as a member of the early breast cancer detection programme in the canton of Thurgau. In 2020, she joined Zurich Waid Hospital as chief radiologist. At the Zurich Breast Center, she now applies her extensive knowledge of breast diagnostics within an interdisciplinary team.
