Dr. med. Valerio Arcangelo VITALE

Biography

Born in Caserta, Dr Valerio A. Vitale graduated in medicine in 2005 upon completing his studies at La Sapienza University of Rome. In 2009, he obtained his specialisation in radiology at the same university. Between 2008 and 2009, he spent time in the United States to complete an internship at the Radiology Department of Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. In 2015, he completed the radiologic-pathologic correlation course (AIRP) of the American College of Radiology.

Today, he works as an independent professional in his diagnostic imaging practice dedicated to breast imaging and women’s health in Lugano. Previously, he was Radiology Consultant and Head of Breast Imaging Diagnostics at the Regional Hospital of Lugano (EOC). He also served as Radiology Consultant at the Cantonal Endometriosis Centre, and as Interventional Breast Imaging Consultant at the Breast Unit Senologia Ticino.

He is a member of the European Board in Breast Imaging (EBBI) of the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI), author and co-author of scientific articles of national and international relevance, and frequently participates as speaker and moderator at radiology and breast imaging conferences.

In 2024, he joined Affidea Switzerland at the new Ticino Breast Centre.
